Add milk, butter, and vanilla extract; stir with a wooden spoon until dough is combined. Fold in chocolate chips.Turn dough out on a large piece of plastic wrap; roll into a log and wrap up tightly. Freeze until firm, about 1 hour. Cut dough with a wet knife; it will be sticky.You can replace the whole milk with Lactaid(R) milk if you are lactose intolerant.If you're a nut fan, add 1/3 cup of toasted walnuts for an extra crunch.To make into cookies, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until golden brown on the bottom, about 20 minutes.
